Tree Service in Trexlertown, PA

Trexlertown at a glance

Trexlertown is a community of 2,382 people (2020) in Upper Macungie Township, between Breinigsville and Wescosville, west of Allentown. Air Products' headquarters is next door, and the Lehigh Valley Velodrome is nearby.

What that means for your trees

Much of the area is newer housing on former farmland, where young trees planted by builders are reaching the age when structural pruning sets them up for life; see tree trimming and pruning. Ornamental pears, cherries and maples planted by builders often reach the roofline within a couple of decades, and many were planted in tight strips beside driveways.

Open ground

With fewer mature trees to break the wind, young trees can be bent or broken in storms. Young trees staked too long or with wire still around the trunk can be girdled as they grow, so check for leftover stakes and ties.

A tavern on the road

Jeremiah Trexler ran a tavern here on land next to his father's as early as 1732, and in 1734 a road was built from his tavern south toward Philadelphia. The crossroads grew into today's community. Builders' trees in newer neighborhoods are often planted too close to houses or of species that grow larger than expected; a tree service can help decide which to keep; see tree removal.
