Tree Service in Whitehall, PA

Whitehall at a glance

Whitehall Township is a home rule township of 29,173 people (2020) about 4 miles north of Allentown, a suburb in the heart of the Lehigh Valley.

What that means for your trees

Whitehall has established neighborhoods from the mid-20th century with mature shade trees, plus busy commercial corridors. Big maples and oaks over older homes often need deadwood removed and limbs cleared from roofs; see roof clearance. Commercial corridors along MacArthur Road leave many homes with small, crowded back yards where a tree grows close to the house, garage or neighbor's fence, so careful rigging matters.

Ash in the yard

Many yards here were planted with ash trees decades ago. Emerald ash borer has killed many of them, and dead ash become brittle quickly. Dead ash left standing near driveways and play sets is one of the most common hazards tree services see in the township.

Palatinate settlers

In 1736 the Lenape deeded the land between South Mountain and Blue Mountain to William Penn's sons, and a wave of German immigrants from the Palatinate followed. The first, Jacob Kohler, settled near today's Egypt around 1728. Farms gave way to suburbs in the 20th century, and many of the trees planted along those new streets are now 60 or 70 years old, big enough to cause real damage if a limb fails; see tree health checks.
